You’re making us straight people look uninformed.
It's a legit problem... You have tops and bottoms in straight relationships too, it's not about parts or gender, it's about relationship dynamics
But we've partially tied it up with gender, which really fucks with all these people who don't understand why their sex lives suck, no matter how hard they try
The societal views on relationships are just so fucked in general, stuff like "dominant=top" "man=dominant" and "you can't have different preferences day-to-day", and of course "relationships can only be 2 people".
It's taken me several years of constant poking and prodding at my brain to figure out my preferences and it's complex enough that i'd double the length of this comment by explaining it.
But god damn it's nice to have it figured out; especially coming to terms with not actually being straight (and rejecting the concept of sexuality categories) has done wonders for my confidence, it's a solid foundation for my mental health.
It makes me very sad and angry that it's questionable if a significant amount of the population will ever reach this point, i wish we could launch a global project to help people with introspection and untangling themselves so they can have this inner peace.
You’re not uninformed You’re just categorically unable to truly experience being an excluded community* so you’re got to take terminology from people who don’t really have a choice
*cis only
But you don’t HAVE to understand the lives of people you take terminology from, so lots of you don’t, & those who don’t sometimes wander into threads like this anyway, reminding me that honestly most of you ARE like that

My bad. I’m sorry. Thank you for correcting me. Peace and love. ❤️
