  1. Any drama must be posted as an observer, you cannot post drama that you are involved with.
  2. When posting screenshots of drama, you must obscure the identity of all the participants.

The usual instance-wide rules also apply.

Chronicle the life and tale of the fediverse (+ matrix)

Largely a sublemmy about capturing drama, from fediverse spanning drama to just lemmy drama.

Includes lore like how a instance got it's name, how an instance got defederated, how an admin got doxxed, fedihistory etc

(New) This sub's intentions is to an archive/newspaper, as in preferably don't get into fights with each other or the ppl featured in the drama

Went up by a thousand in 2 minutes if I'm reading it correctly.

I wonder if you can auto bid like in ebay??

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Looking at it again, yeah. I think that's exactly what's happening.

p_p raised to 800 and it immediately went up to 810 in favour of j_s. p_p then proceeded to raise by a hundred until 1600 with p_p automatically raising to that number + 10.

So I think either there's an autobid, some sort of script, or someone with no life involved.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think it might be the latter. I watched it for half an hour while JS was not in the lead, so I don't think it's automatic

Actually, there's a "How auctions work" link. It says:

Sav will automatically proxy bid on your behalf when a bid more than the minimum required bid is submitted.

I guess what you saw was just that j_s max bid was reached and had to be re-upped.

I bid $1,000 on it. But that was my max. So out of my league now.

Wouldn't it be better to agree whatever bit yall want to do with the domain name and spend the money on something more productive? Here's a father trying to buy his kid a new leg after Israel blew it off.

Back when it was 300, all of hexbear was under agreement that the domain isn't worth that much, and losing it to capitalism is a funny bit, redirect it to /r/neoliberal or the wikipedia article on economics or the Black Book of Communism or something. Maybe declare Juan Guaidó the interim president of hexbear and redirect to his twitter.

Whoever you're in a bidding war with wants to do the same thing you do.

You need to pool in with someone else!

Or visit chapo.chat/c/mutual_aid and put the money to a better use.

[–] Luci -5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm not sure that's where I want to be putting my money personally but you do you.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

you do you

Helping out others is so me!

I don't trust a web forum to properly allocate the money

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

you donate directly to the people asking for it. Have you even opened the page?
