Lotion recommendations (feddit.online)

I have the "I hate feeling wet/oily when I'm supposed to be dry" autism. I also have the "It feels like 10s of itchy razor-blade cuts when my skin is so dry it cracks" autism. This cold front has my skin too dry and cracked. It's about to be worse than air drying after swimming at the beach and then putting on a shirt. I'm running out of meltdown prevention juice. Does anyone have any lotion or other remedies? I'm like 3 tragedies away from meltdown.

Winner: CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion!! And CeraVe PM for the faceeee!! I feel my skin starting to be less mad at me already. Thank you everyone!

10s of itchy razor blade cuts

I am in this post and I don’t like it! I have that kind of autism as well, with a garnish of psoriasis on top. I’ve been using this from Cera ve-https://www.cerave.com/skincare/moisturizers/daily-moisturizing-lotion

Thick lotions feel like spreading icing on my skin or something, but this feels like giving it a drink. I use an applicator to spread it on my back and I don’t have any issues with shirts after it’s rubbed in and dried for a minute or two. It is painfully pricey but the XL bottles last me 2-3 months (my last one was $18.50), so it’s not bad overall

I hope you find something your skin likes 🤞

Thank you! This is the 4th time I've seen CeraVe recommended online, so I'm going to try some out.

~~What do you use for a back applicator?~~ Never mind. Found some online. I had never heard of them.

I was coming to recommend CeraVe. I apply it in like, layers- so I'll apply a teeny bit, then a teeny bit more, and keep doing that, and rubbing it in each time, until it's all absorbed, and it stops absorbing. Then I might, if I'm bothered or touching stuff, wipe off the extra at the end with a towel.

But like reddfugee said, if you do it before bed, it's so much better, because you can just lay down and let it absorb!

Really hope you get there. It's a hard thing to do.

I don't know what kind of dissociative states you guys are practicing putting on lotion and then getting in bed 😖, but I will not partake in any of that! lol jk...a little. I got the CeraVe and it is fantastic! thank you :)
