Lemmy is such a small, nerdy, niche thing that it doesn't remotely have anything affect on real life whatsoever.

You are reading too much into it. Lemmy users made me spread out because they are so against diversity of views. But at the end of the the day, Lemmy's not even close to the real world.

How so? I post a news article from a major news org. Lemmy doesn't like it because it's not anti-Trump. They start threads to ban me from entire fediverse rather than just block me.
All I do is post articles and reply to replies. People should just block me. But the reality is, they want to ban me because I post news articles. I don't advocate violence. I don't post anything racist. No bigotry. No transphobia. Literally just news articles.
And rather than just ignore me, people want me to go away:

Your bio emphasizes your amazing will to stay the onslaught of downvotes and other compliments. In comments you assert your purity and imply you've been persecuted.
That is a fun narrative to be the center of.
So you don't feel that I am being persecuted? I wouldn't actually choose that term because I don't feel THAT close to Lemmy. I'm retired, it's a fun hobby. If it disappeared tomorrow I'd shrug and fined something else to do.
I edited my last comment, so you may not have seen it. But my username is used on over 20 instances. New ones being made every day. Less than half of those are actually me. So a guy makes them, tries to post to instances/communties where I have been banned.
Then he jumps to his main username, starts threads about me and say, "Look! Proof that he's ban evading!!"
You don't think that would cause you to sorta rebel and feel attacked? Now don't get me wrong, it IS hilarious to me someone is so obsessed with me he does that. But what's weird is watching Lemmy, which is trying to make itself different that Reddit concerning over-controlling overlords, jump and down with glee and agree.
Again, and I have said this a few times, and I am repeating for new readers, not you: If I wanted to ban evade, I wouldn't use the same username to do it. Because my Universal Monk name gets flagged immediately.
So why people call me a troll, when the reality is that someone is trolling me, is hilarious and ironic to me.
It takes 20 seconds to create a new email, a new username, and be back on Lemmy. Why would I use my same username to ban evade?! It's not like I have anything like good karma to farm. Everyone hates me anyway. lmao
But people are sooo obsessed with me being this big bad thing, they just jump on the hate-train.
So wouldn't that make you feel a little rebellious?
Also, and this is a serious question, have you found anything I have posted or said that was so radical than I should be banned from the fediverse? Separate your feelings about our opposing political stances and tell me if you found anything I should be banned for.
All my posts are public. Mod logs are public. Some admins actually support me, which is why I am still here. But feel free to have a look. I may not agree with everything you say, but I respect you point of view and your tone in our conversation.
