Im really glad to see this happening in multiple sites. Hopefully if it becomes usable it can quickly spread around the globe:

Also, with all due respect to Europe, the United Kingdom and France aren't superpower economies like the US or China, which means this is feasible by a mid range economy like Saudi Arabia, Egypt or Brazil.

This is a part of an international effort that includes the EU. It might have been done in France, but that doesn't mean that's where all the funding came from.
