Still incredibly new to all this, so sorry if this a daft question/ wrong place to put it.

But I came across this prefix you can apply to eg - Lemmy.World: https://old.lemmy.world/. It applies an “Old Reddit” theme to Lemmy. I tried it on a couple of communities, and it seems to work.

Except for Feddit.uk.

Anyone know what’s up with that? Who doesn’t old.feddit.uk work?

(Again - sorry if this is a silly question).

The front end and back end of Lemmy are decoupled. This means you're using lemmy through a web app amd API, and it also means third parties can create alternatuve front ends.

There's an increasing number of them.

The "old" front end is one of these. It doesn't ship with Lemmy, and needs to be installed and maintained separately by the site's admins. Not everyone is going to bother, any more than they're going to bother hosting Tesseract or Voyager.
