Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Was hoping to read what triggered her being picked up by US authorities. Article doesn't say until right at the end that she was turned away at the Canadian border .. but doesn't say why.

Well, it pretty much says it all when not even the BBC can give a halfway comprehensible reason. I mean, they still have at least certain journalistic standards. If no reason is given, the authorities just didn't give one - the article says that they just wouldn't discuss that. So it looks like pure arbitrariness to me, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if that was the case with this regime. That's what they do: They chicanery people and use all their power for their fascist ideology without caring about the law in the slightest.

These people lack any concept of what is decent or just because they are morally bankrupt.

On an older article it just said “visa mixup”. Which didn’t really help at all.

Edit: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c80y3yx1jdyo this one has more details. She was denied entry to Canada as they believed she would try and work.

With some fava beans and a nice white wine?

That's a terrible pairing with human flesh. I'd go for a full-bodied red. Montepulciano or maybe a Gaillac. 😙🤌

IIRC she was doing a chores/cleaning for lodging during her trip which is a bit of a gray area but they consider a visa violation (working) and she apparently mentioned it to border agents when trying to enter Canada.

Not grey they consider that work, even in Canada.
