A right-wing priest has been defrocked after mimicking Elon Musk’s controversial salute while addressing a pro-life convention.

Robinson concluded his speech by thumping his chest and raising his right hand to the sky. “My heart goes out to you,” he said with a wry smile as he exited the stage.

JFC "Elon Musk's controversial salute"?? JUST SAY IT ALREADY.

". . . with a wry smile" yeah they're all in on it. This needs to be stopped now.

It's not though. Democracy relies on a bunch of environmental factors we blew through about 100 years ago. If these parties were out meeting people one to one and making a rational case, that'd be one thing. If the press was doing their job of informing everyone properly, that'd be another thing.

But then, if they were doing that, they wouldn't be so fucking dangerous. They're simply riding on propaganda which we know works every time. And since capitalism also requires propaganda, we can't shut that part down without restructuring our entire economic system, which analysts suggest might take longer than three, or even four weeks.

You mean an actual finished, polished, AI product with usefulness and key privacy attributes?

Mmmmmmaybe. But the odds that extraterrestrials get tired of waiting and just show up is about the same. roughly between 0.001% and divide by zero error.

After facing online scrutiny, the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women has taken steps to remove a reading list for children from its website that referenced Adolf Hitler as an example of leadership.

"Hitler and all intelligent leaders throughout history have understood that the way to change a country was through the training of its youth, to get them while they are young," the organization's reading list said.

On its website, the organization has a photograph of the Israeli flag and touts its support for the country.

On This Day in 1793, Revolutionaries Executed the King of France by Guillotine, a Deadly Machine They Saw as a Symbol of Equality

Today of all days, and for reasons known only to themselves, the Smithsonian Magazine decided to publish an article on class warfare and schemes of execution.

“Highwaymen were broken on the wheel, witches burnt at the stake and thieves hung,” wrote Eamonn Carrabine, a sociologist and criminologist at the University of Essex in England. Aristocrats, on the other hand, were usually beheaded with a sword, a privilege that “was not extended to most commoners, who were decapitated by an unwieldy ‘heading axe’ that bludgeoned its way through the neck, often requiring several attempts.”
