I like it. I would specify that the reason mods use 3rd party apps is because the apps allow them to to more effectively moderate their communities. The official reddit app doesn't not have the additional functionality that 3rd party apps do. This will cause a decline in subreddit quality for everyone.
Likewise, power users don't just use 3rd party apps for a better personal experience. Power users are more like to actually make content for general consumption. If they leave reddit because their favorite app is gone, you again have a decline in subreddit quality.
Those two points for me really drive home why John/Jane Doe who uses and likes the official app should care at all about any of this.
Thanks, I'll use information like that in other forms of these things I do
