The logic is a topologist fantasy. It's inside-out, upside-down, sideways, backward and twisted, just wrong from every angle. I hope they don't get to find out, but their average person will not own a slave. Most Southerners could not afford slaves. Slave ownership was for the upper class, and even then, they started losing money by putting off switching to industrialized methods. The working class isn't going to get butlers, they're going to get to compete with people working for free. It isn't a shot in the arm so much as it is a shot in the foot.
Also, it's one of the most immoral human rights violations in the history of mankind, so there's that, too.
Shit man you don't have to tell me, I've spent my whole career as a white southern electrician calling out bullshit on the job. Lost some jobs over my mouth, nearly gotten into fights several times, including one right in front of the foreman during covid. It's why I work for myself now - I got tired of these fascists taking what I earned and then telling me how to do my job. And lemme tell you, my mouth ain't got quieter since I started cutting my own checks. You can peruse my comment history and extrapolate.
Now all we can hope for is sympathizers to an Underground Railroad...
Sorry for my tone. That wasn't directed at you. It was intended to be in support of people like us.
Yeah, here's to the peaceful reformation, or, that failing, the violent revolution.
I feel you. It's tough to strike a balance in tone.
It'll end in civil war either way. Here's hoping our side in the conflict actually aligns under principles of class warfare and not... whatever the Democrats do.
Anyway imma write a book, someone fuckin has to
