I’d say this is a good sign. I’ve never served but I’ve known a lot of people who have at different levels and capacities.

The military folks I’ve known would hate this, I feel comfortable saying they’d say it’s absolutely not the kind of thing we do here and it’s not the kind of thing a professional military should be doing.

I take comfort from this knowing that our military seems to still have actually committed service members in it and hasn’t been corrupted with sycophants.

This may not even be anti-Trump motivated. Literally nobody likes being in formation, drill or parade; it fucking sucks. The bigger the event/ceremony the worse it is. This may just be anti-formation sabotage.

Back when I worked on a base, we'd sometimes get told to go to the atrium because some high muckety muck was giving a speech. We'd call it a "rent-a-crowd". The speech was sometimes interesting, but never relevant to me or my position.
