What a clown show, cables shouldn't be this complicated. This makes old school barrel jacks even more likeable.
I mean it's not that complicated of a problem, I've had micro USB cables do the same thing to me back in the day. It seems like the specifications are pretty clear ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Yeah the cable has problems, but it's what we've settled on, and personally I'm thrilled to only have one wire to charge everything. I won't buy things that don't use USB C. And if I do? I'll convert them.
Barrel jacks have a lot going for them, but they are far from perfect themselves. What size is it? The OD is right but the ID is wrong. Polarity?
At least with USB C if I buy a good quality set of cables and a beefy charger, I can charge almost anything.
The data specifications are a whole other beast, but we're talking power.
