Vice President JD Vance’s Bluesky account was suspended within minutes of him joining the platform. His posts criticized medical treatments for transgender youth and claimed pharmaceutical influence over healthcare decisions.

This looks like some good sealioning. He probably didn’t write it himself. I think he was playing to his fans and trying to discredit Bluesky and its community guidelines. I wonder if Musk paid him, or if he did this on his own.

Did... Did the word get invented because of a meme that has nothing to do with sea lions? Language is amazing.

It does have to do with sea lions?

It's that all the way down. For multiple centuries the word for gay women in multiple languages has been the demonym of a small island in Greece because their most famous resident was a queer poet in antiquity.

The word "guy" as a common noun comes from the proper noun (fun fact Julius Caesar was a Guy, well, a Gaius) because someone with that name tried to kill parliament and language is weird

I would like to have a civil conversation about your statement.
