It has made me think of all the times I didn't do something because I thought the risk to my life was too great. Now it just feels like a missed opportunity to have lived more even if it had killed me.

I know I have done as much with my life as I reasonably could have. It just feels like I simultaneously could have done more but at the same time it ultimately doesn't matter.

It's a weird contradictory feeling

Those risks to your life that you regret not taking might not have killed you - just maimed you, leaving you horribly injured or in pain for the remainder of your life. I wouldn't regret them, people should seek safe thrills, calculated risks. If the benefit is far outweighed by the potential cost, then you made the right call - let that regret go.
