Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
Don't promote proprietary software
Try to keep things on topic
If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

What harm is there in simply keeping WhatsApp installed on my device and not using it? (lemmy.ml)

I just got my only international contact to switch to Signal, but I don't feel like setting up whatsapp again if I would ever need it for some reason. Is there any harm in simply keeping it and not using it?

I think every app can still access metadata from other apps even if not directly in use, but I'd certainly like to hear what more knowledgeable people than me know about this.
