Loud speaking, blunt /direct responses, in English. Rain. Do’s: Go eat some raw herring, no onions. Get some salty licorice called “drop” Go the the rijksmuseum. Expensive but worth it. Go to obscure places in Amsterdam, outside of the centre. Go to Haarlem or Utrecht. Nicer places than Amsterdam. Have fun.

Don’t: Drink Heineken. It tastes like piss. Go to the Amsterdam tourist traps like red light district or coffee shops.
