Lots of people think they bought stuff when they just acquired a temporary license to view it on terms of the provider.

We really need change there. I would certainly buy MKVs of movies but wouldn't buy viewing licenses, but the majority of consumers don't care at all.

Capitalism likes to shift stuff from ownership to rent models, which is highly dangerous for people who own less and less, rent more, and are at the mercy of megacorporations for half of the items in their households, be it physical or digital.
