Any the anime like IPs have black characters (e.g Fire Emblem, Xenoblade Chronicles) some part of the main cast.
Any one that includes a character created self insert will likely have PoC options now (e.g Pokemon, Splatoon, Animal Crossing)
Mainstay series may occasionally have PoC races or rando NPCs (e.g Mario has black people in New Donk City)
So I guess the problem is more-or-less the Super Smash Bros. series itself.
Yes, because titular character is designed after the original target player in mind, a generic japanese boy.
There's a big reason why in JRPGS for instance, it's almost always a young looking japanese sword wielding boy, disproportionately compared to literally any other weapon they could use.
Because Smash tends to use titular characters, it will disproportionately look like they have no PoC
Xenoblade Chronicles could have probably had a representative, if people 1. actually bought a WiiU, and 2. actually played Xenochronicles X, so that Elma would have been playable, but to the rest of the world, JRPGs is always a niche audience if its not named Final Fantasy.
Thanks for explaining.
