The rhetoric and goal of Hexbar are clear based on their announcement: to “dismantle western propaganda” and "demolish organizations such as NATO” shows that Hexbar has no intention of "respecting the rules of the community instance in which they are posting/commenting.” It’s to push their beliefs and ideology.

I was in the process of submitting revisions to the statement on Russia but the part that they took offense to wasn't any of the problems I saw with it, but rather the one part I didn't change that was just like "NATO and the IMF are bad," where I was like, "Perfect, no notes." picard picard-annoyed

"Pushing your beliefs" is inherently against the rules, if those beliefs are critical of NATO. Lemmy.world is explicitly a pro-NATO community where criticism of the organization gets you banned. What a mess.

I had to reread that part because it was difficult to imagine a community that likes NATO and the IMF. It straight up didn't register to me that the speaker took issue with your statement.
