I really want to get this. Poor quality video and audio, some of those classic VHS lines across the screen...

For me it's nostalgia and also fits with the analogue/early digital type vibe of the ship and equipment.

I'm sure a VHS rip must exist somewhere, anyone know where I could find one?

If you really want to feel alive, get ahold of a Japanese release of the Alien LaserDisc.
