That is the shitty part. People are not very accepting. We do have a little of a diverse neighborhood here which is good at least. No one here cares if someone's gay.

Now if your walking around at night trying peoples car doors, you're gonna get in trouble. We dont tolerate that garbage.

people use words like this to describe austin, but i had to spend 5 years there before i realized that they're qualified statements.

and it's not just small places, california used to insist that they didn't have a problem with gay people either, but they still prevented us from getting married and it literally forced families, like mine, to break apart.

it all goes to prove that op was right.

Yeah I hate how brainwashed people are. Completely religions fault. It preys on the idiots and then they are groomed for authoritarianism.

I never understood it even when little. WHY hate people? Sure, you may hate a criminal or a rapist. But 98% of those are white cis men, not trans folk or drag queens.

We have good little pockets of community lgbtq businesses and such that are growing more all the time, so its good to see somethibg positive is happening if even a small scale.

Edit: woof, tankie spotted. No more communications from me, good luck with your sad life.

When did I imply hate? Its people like you that are why we will never defeat billionaires. You're all in your own little war either with each other or other countries you hate. This is exactly what billionaires want so we will keep warring with each other instead of agreeing on the real issue.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

you're not going to defeat the billionaires because they've manipulated you (and almost all of western society) into holding the opinions that you're sharing here; the Epstein files and the Maxwell court case show this and I strongly recommend that you read both.

Those files also show that the only thing that scared them was collectivism and especially communism; short of that, there is nothing that you can do that will ever impact the billionaires.

The sooner you realize this, the sooner you'll come to understand how 30 million of your fellow liberals chose to not bother voting. that's so many that are disaffected by the system that there aren't even enough communists, socialists, nor 3rd party voters combined to make up that difference.

I never argued against collectivism.

People who dont vote are idiots.

Ive read the files. Its abhorrent , and it fucking pisses me off, but there's nothing one can do about it. Family members are complicit and dont want to get up in arms about anything.

You'd need a revolution of thousands marching armed to politicians houses for anything to change. And that's not going to happen because we dont want to all die or go to prison yet , until food shortages come.

People who dont vote are idiots.

This speaks to the heart of that billionaire manipulation I referenced earlier.

30 million is more people than all of the states within this country besides California and Texas, but you've been conditioned to dismiss them easily and the number will continue to grow until you pay attention to why they're not voting.

If you investigate why you so easily dismiss them, you might come to understand the levels of control that the billionaires have over you.
