Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

How Do I Replace LVM RAID Without Replacement Disk Being Installed? (lemmy.ml)

I am so confused that why I can't find on how to do this...

Offline the failing (but still working disk) from the LVM RAID1 side
Physically remove it from the system
Put in new disk
Tell LVM RAID1 to use the newly installed disk

I do not have space in a dual caddy to put in the "to be replaced" disk for the --replace parameter to work. So how do I flipping tell LVM that I want to offline the disk that I wanna remove? Then online the new disk??

That's understandable to me now, thank you very much for explaining all of this to me so I am able to becomes aware and able to understand everything now. :)
