I should probably check out mastodon too finally since I've made the plunge into lemmy already.

What! Mastodon can access lemmy too?
The Lemmy structure isn't really visible from Mastodon, and communities shows up as groups in Mastodon, but yeah you can see Lemmy's content on the Fediverse, same as on kbin :)
Can you give us a screenshot of how it looks from Mastodon?
