From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

This guide explains what is KDE Connect and its features, how to install KDE connect in various Linux platforms and Android and finally how to sync Android phone with Linux desktop using KDE connect in order to access files and notifications from Android devices to Linux and vice versa.

There is really rich functionality to be made use of with this integration. I just wish that this was also possible for iPhones (but Steve declared that it was not to be because we hold it incorrectly...)

You should fix that :) Probably a wifi-router that is connected to the main LAN via the WAN port (and active DHCP server).

I have a LAN/WAN/DMZ/WLAN setup at home with a hardware firewall behind my ISP router. I don't really feel the need to change that either. :D

there is no reason it shouldn't work accross subnet if you open the right ports and input the IP manually for the first run. All of that is explained in op's link.
