there's the so called "Ubisoft Formula" for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which is: slash some enemies, climb a tower, free a camp, slash some enemies, climb a tower… they also did it with Far Cry 3, 4 and 5.
What's generic about Ghost of Tsushima evades me a little though. I don't like it myself but it's a game which requires lots of skill and endurance and it has beautiful graphics and a captivating story.
How would you define a regular fantasy RPG?
The Witcher 3? Skyrim? Legend of Grimrock?
Elaborate, please. What exactly do you dislike about the games I mentioned? What are some games you liked in that genre?
The Witcher 3 is way better than 1 and 2 combined and got its GOTY awards for a good reason. If you dislike Grimrock's dungeon-only setting, try Legend of Grimrock 2!
Other classical RPGs you might not have played: Two Worlds and Gothic 3.
