Hamas is resisting Zionism, not Jews. They're pretty explicit about that.
So if you oppose race/religion-based tribalism you support Hamas, because they're the ones opposing it.
I don’t support Hamas because they support violent overthrow of Zionists.
I do agree that up until last weekend they were the best option for stability and support of the Palestinian people in the region, however. But the current operation was a suicide mission and they’ve taken the entire Palestinian population with them.
Then again, the alternative was annihilation by a billion cuts. Still doesn’t mean I support their approach, just like I don’t support the state of Israel’s response (or that of the countries supporting them).
