If you find an injured owl:

Note your exact location so the owl can be released back where it came from. Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitation specialist to get correct advice and immediate assistance.

Minimize stress for the owl. If you can catch it, toss a towel or sweater over it and get it in a cardboard box or pet carrier. It should have room to be comfortable but not so much it can panic and injure itself. If you can’t catch it, keep people and animals away until help can come.

Do not give food or water! If you feed them the wrong thing or give them water improperly, you can accidentally kill them. It can also cause problems if they require anesthesia once help arrives, complicating procedures and costing valuable time.

If it is a baby owl, and it looks safe and uninjured, leave it be. Time on the ground is part of their growing up. They can fly to some extent and climb trees. If animals or people are nearby, put it up on a branch so it’s safe. If it’s injured, follow the above advice.

Exciting News! Three magnificent Great Horned Owls have been set free to soar the skies once more! The adult found herself tangled in a soccer net a while back, suffering soft tissue damage to her feet and wings. After extensive physical therapy and care, she was ready to be fly free again.

Joining her on thisfreedom journey are two spirited juveniles who came inas orphans this spring and were raised by our two outstanding Great Horned foster dads!

As these owls spread their wings and venture into the wild, it's a testament to the dedication and compassion of our team. Thank you for supporting our mission to rehabilitate and release these incredible creatures.

I am very glad to hear that! It has been a very tough couple of months for me and a lot of the people I care about too, and posting here everyday has given me something to look forward to as well.

I finally got a new job that starts literally the day after my current one ends. I've been so stressed these just 3 months because I hadn't even gotten one interview and I had some major home and car repairs I had to pay for. I'm the only income for my house right now, so I had been so nervous.

Coming here every day to give you guys something we could all smile at really helped, so I'm glad I can give you a bright moment back. I'm wishing you the best of luck with your situation!
