That's... How it works? They didn't inspect themselves and pat themselves on the back, but brought in pros, and worked with them and avidwd by their findings?

They set a very high bar in this one specific area.

Same. Especially in Canada Amazon is basically a scam

yep, did some digging.

The minir4 is Revision 4, and came out ~2 years ago. the ZBminir2 Is Revision 2, and came out like 3 months ago.

Going to buy a dozen ZBminiR2

Hmm, looks like you are right.

I already need another 5-10, and I'll likely switch to the ZB unit

It... May be? I saw the 2 in the name and assumed it was an older unit. I'll have to look into it

Not sure if you are joking or not... If not, did you watch the video?

Here to vouch for aqara sensors. My motion sensors work a treat. Just wish I got the FP1, Since I find them TOO sensitive

I bought several Sonoff mini4r to add some automation to my lights, and wanted to post a short review:

Pros:

  • price is excellent. Got 5 for <$50 cad.
  • Size is amazing, itsy Bitsy.
  • Build quality feels good.
  • Should be easy to flash, if my soldering skills were better, with exposed pads.
  • Connected to my home wifi quick and easy.
  • SonoffLAN easily picked them up, with full control.
  • Detached relay mode works great, with switch fallback if wifi goes down.
  • quick response time, under a second.

Cons:

  • only rated for 10-12 amps, means I can't install this on switch controlled outlets.
  • wish it had headers for flashing.
  • wifi only, wish there was a ZigBee model.

In the end, I'm likely to buy more, and some Shelly units for where I need 16-20 amp relays.

Oh, I need that pic.

I have to admit, i immediately set my ringtone to this.

Cant wait. S9 was one of my favorites, and I've definitely missed the hermits the last month!

People honestly beleive there was a massive empire until recently which covered most the globe, but was destroyed by a worldwide mud flood.

Somehow, spires on buildings made limitless power

Nice to see a new Zedaph video. Hes become one of my favorites in S9

Sorry guys, left work for a bit for a parental leave, and focused on my personal life.

Back at work, so more time browsing the web!

Whose planning on upgrading from the Q2 to a Q3?

It seems like a lot of incremental upgrades, but it's a LOT of incremental upgrades.

Cost is definitely a lot higher than I like, close to 2x what I paid for my Q2
