I currently am using a Nighthawk R8500 just as a wired router.

I have Cat6a throughout the whole home and two ruckus wireless AP's.

My Nighthawk is very old, I got it for Christmas in 2015, and it has started to need bi-monthly reboots or it just shuts down.

I want to replace it with something that doesn't have antennas, and that will fit in my Structured Media cabinet.

I'm not a networking guy and have no idea where to start. I want something that will allow me to name and monitor devices, allow me to set specific IP's for specific devices, offer some statistics and have a built-in firewall, etc... basically all the same functionality of the Netgear minus the WIFI. And ideally be a multi-gig and have at least a couple 2.5gbe ports although its not a deal breaker if it doesn't have that.

You have several choices, a few to consider:

Mikrotik

UniFi

TP-Link Omada

Knowledge is expensive in time or money.

Trade the one you have most available.
