Watching a Flemish series on Netflix. The subtitles make the characters look better than they are.
The swearing is truly appalling, the equivalent of saying fucking cunt or what is the worst thing to say in Australia, but the medieval Vlaamse swears is translated literally and comes across as quaint ๐
I found this with Norwegian Taskmaster. I know just enough German to be able to tell the subtitles are NOT what was said even without knowing exactly what was.
