Do people actually care about companies telling them what they bought or whatever? I really don't get this unhealthy obsession people have with communications from companies that only want money

in my opinion, it's not something that has a huge difference on my life, but I still find it cool to compare with my friends, it helps me to remind the good times I had with them.

I think the companies are just doing it because it's a trend. But I am curious about the obsession you mentioned, are people really obsessed with it?
