This is two decades past cassette futurism
I dunno, I had a GameBoy and a (casette) Walkman at the same time in the 90s?
This has a mini USB and micro SD card, those are mid 2000s era, about 10 years after regular gameboy/Pokemon Red, and 20 years after cassette tapes
I agree, this one is a bit out of period, but I still get some 80s vibes like those handheld videogames:
