Ummm...just go to the releases section. There's an executable windows installer which will install a fully themed version. It's infinitely easier than getting themes to work properly on the default install.
I will happily admit I'm a github dunce, I don't code and it's always so confusing to me what exactly I'm supposed to be clicking on... I'll do that, thanks for the suggestion.
BTW your suggestion solved my problem, many thanks. Am I right in thinking that I need to stick with this version now... any updates will just revert to the standard windows-conflicting problem?
Yes, you'll need to turn off automatic updates in Qbittorrent's settings. That GitHub link is updated semi regularly when there is a significant update- qbittorrent are fairly zany with their updates, even the most minor and insignificant change they drop an update.
