When mindlessly browsing Reddit, I found that I usually just jump directly to the comments, read a couple, and continue. Lemmy seems a bit more curated (read: smaller), and therefore it's easier to actually engage in discussions, which leads me to read the article, think critically about it, and respond (if I have something to say) in the comments--bigger is not always better!

Ya because more people post the text of the article in their post or in a comment under the post. So i dont have to click a link then wait for the cookies popup then turn the cookies off then save then the website is still kinda slow because of the ads and a video at the top of the article starts autoplaying but only the audio so i cant pause it yet bc it hasnt fully loaded.

Also there are less comments so sometimes i read it to be able to make a comment.
