I'm trying to find the right balance between effort/time and money in terms of feeding myself. Sadly no money for FairFeed this week or next. But I have caved and bought some frozen sliced green beans. I shall be making a pot of dal and I'll stir fry the green beans with a bit of chilli and plenty of onion. That along with defrosted curry should see me through to the weekend.

Sadly, the frozen beans just don't cut it the same way fresh ones do (although they are infinitely faster to use). But the dal turned out brilliantly! I did it tadka style rather than the usual sri Lankan coconut milk style and got the mix of spices perfectly this time - plus I didn't overfry the fresh curry leaves. Win!
