I use lutris and steam.

I'm thinking about making a game launcher in LISP that uses YAML files to manage games.

Steam. I know this is kind of silly but I pretty much stopped playing Rocket League because it annoyed me so much having to log into Epic Games' separate launcher and keep the launcher logged in and updated as well as the game itself. GTA: Online requires a Rockstar launcher but it isn't very intrusive so I don't mind it.
