Are we cool with creating communities on here that may become popular? (lemy.lol)

or do we want to keep this as a mostly user-auth instance?

I was thinking of creating something similar to "findAReddit". There doesn't seem to be a big one around. It could become a directory that other instances frequent. Are we willing to handle something like that?

It's definitely nice to have a few communities. Just make sure:

Add the community to community boost.
Search the community from other big instances (like lemmy.world, lemmy.ml) to make it available for their users.
Post it to communities like [email protected].

As you can see, the problem is reachability and first two items fixing that.
