My point here was more about the composition (it's a slightly modified mirror flip).

ok yea, i think i was grasping at words in my previous post, but i agree. its not just the pose but the uncanny similarity in overall composition (e.g., the way her coat blows in the wind) which looks like an homage. its like when someone draws an overhead view of someone walking up to a motorcycle and if you know the reference, you know it's an homage (or parody) to Akira.

Oh man, such a good scene. I mean, Akira was a great movie, incredible manga, and just so so good.
