Can't you revert to different versions on Steam?
only if the dev/publisher/whoever-responsible offers the different versions as available branches in the game's properties. Some do, most don't.

Thats just idiotic.
You just wait a couple days for the mods to be updated. This is non news.
They could just make the update reversible, many mods probably don't get updated and are dead now. And its basically for nothing. Just because of a "next gen" update that doesn't do anything mods didn't do better before.
You're just repeating the same complaints people have made for the last twenty years. Everything is already back to normal now. It's ok.
