A number of false and misleading claims about the French riots have been circulating on social media.

I don't think we will be able to believe anything we see online. These are fake videos taken from movies, once AI is able to create realistic videos this problem will get much worse.

And the creators will later release a statement about how they didn’t think anyone would use their super advanced AI tools for anything bad

I read a neat but chilling idea that real videos will need to be filmed while a device plays some encrypted audio signature that can't be heard by the human ear but shows up in the video's audio data. You'd then be able to check for this verification data to ensure the video is legitimate and not artificial.
