For music, there's AudioDB and MusicBrainz

For movies and TV shows, there's OMDb (check the "Sponsors" box to find an app that uses their API or test it out in the "Examples" tab)

For comics, there's Grand Comics Database

And for anime, there's AniDB, AniList

Rotten Tomatoes is a commercial product and is owned by the major US media conglomerates. We're looking for an open source alternative.

I am waiting for a fork of Bookwyrm but for movies. Bookwyrm is great: it is federated, it accesses books data from different sources (mainly The Open Library), and it is FOSS.

Imagine how cool it would be to have something like a Moviewyrm!
