I guess if Peertube would include a simple, easy to use video editor to make quick video clips from a mobile phone then it could be used for a quite similar purpose as tiktok.
Its always better to have a real alternative, not just some slightly less bad alternative front-end.

Right know there isn't a proper tiktok private alternative. However, there are many private social network platforms that are part of the fediverse.

No. Nitter is "passive" just like bibliogram.art for IG, invidio.us for YT and teddit.net / libredd.it for reddit.
