Asklemmy

The current rules look good, expect for "Legal under US law", that should go. We have a code of conduct for the site, so there is no reason to refer to the laws of some random country.

I think it's quite cool as it's now. I like to see this community growing (:

I think asklemmy and helpmelemmy (or savemelemmy or helplemmy or advicelemmy or advice or lemmyadvice or lemmingsadvice or soslemmy or ohpleasegodhelpme or ohpleasesomeonehelpme or howwhywhenwhowhatwhichwhere) should be two different sublemmies. The sublemmy asklemmy I think should be more about the general lemmy community on this instance and their experiences and thoughts (ie. be story based).

Seriously tho I like the idea that its advice-focused. My only preference is that ppl ask lemmy support-type questions in other places like [email protected].

rule idea:

• Do not repeat topics/questions (make sure that the (topic/question) has already been addressed in the community.)

I prefer the story based original idea. I think that advice should be a different community.

I'd say asklemmy for every question that doesn't fit in any other category (existing community) without much thinking, or not in any other somewhat popular community at least

unrelated but i propose that you change the icon. it makes it look like we all have no clue. i would suggest a megaphone with waves or something (to represent a broadcast). or something. idk. thats just my opinion.

i see what you're saying. it's like /c/advice vs a true /c/askXYZ. i don't have a stance on it. although i hadnt really thought about it too much.
