I'm setting up a room for my sister when she comes up to visit later this year. She's not a gamer, so I have to put in a dedicated DVD player for her because she wants to raid my DVD collection. Does my DVD/VCR combo support progressive scan? It has component output which looks nice at 480i, but I'm using a replacement remote and was wondering if it was capable of doing 480p with its native remote.

She's not picky: she's the type to still use composite on a 4K TV, but I am and want to give her the best picture without having to buy a new player. It's a 32 inch Vizio 720p TV circa 2008. I suppose I could let her use my region-free DVD player with HDMI upscaling, but I'm also selfish and wanna keep that for my room for my Arrowverse crossover DVDs. My 4K Blu-ray player is in the living room, and all other disc players are game consoles.
