What are your thoughts on what the highways would be like, if we implemented the UK's / Japan's road rule, where you cannot overtake a vehicle in a lane left of it?

It would do a good job of keeping the right lane free, but knowing Aussie drivers, they would just hog the lane.

For what it’s worth, I can speak from experience and say that while the road rule may exist. Japanese people don’t always/necessarily observe it.
