I've made some posts about troubleshooting some distortion issues I was having, and as it turns out, my Denon AVR-S540BT paired with some KEF Q150's just doesn't pair well with the audio levels I am trying to listen to music at

I am 11ft from the speakers, and I want to listen around 85db, and the KEF Q150's paired with the AVR-S540BT struggle. I end up with distortion, and there has even been a time where the AVR-S540BT turned off and wouldn't turn on again for a few hours (Thermal shut down I guess?)

My plan is to get some better speakers, and then an amplifier after that. My current plan is to get the KEF Q350's. Right now the Q150's have been pawned off to the HT to replace some cheaper Neumi speakers there

What other speakers should I be looking at? The Q350's state 110db, so I guess I should be looking at something equal or greater than that?

Budget under $1000 if I can help it, but willing to go higher if I need to

Floor standing speakers will not work in the room, the speakers need to be placed on a bench/desk at the end of the room or wall mounted

I do have a sub in the setup.
