I heard that torrenting isn't good for the tor network, does the same apply for watching videos on peertube?

You could do it, but I wouldn't recommend it. tor is extremely slow to watch a video, even in 720p (bad quality nowdays.)

i think it slows down the network. better to use something else.

The BitTorrent sharing is done in the browser so if you have the option (My settings > Video settings > Help share videos being played) turned off or WebRTC turned off (including Tor Browser) or are using other methods to watch videos on peertube (eg. downloading) it shouldn't be torrenting anyway. Issues with BitTorrent with Tor also apply here if enabled.

Also watching videos will probably be quite slow over Tor, so I wouldn't recommend it. Perhaps you could use a VPN instead, although I don't know your threat model.

there is a option "help share videos being played" in "my settings" where you can opt-out from using torrent. it'll use http then. i've never had any problems though. (my internet connection isn't from the 90s anymore.)

edit: i don't use tor.

Why not just use peer tube behind a free decentralized vpn like sentinel or mysterium
