Don't really see a reason too. Idk if it's just a way to confuse the boomers or if there is an actual reason in the legal sense.
Yes, legally it chanches a lot of thing, since now there is actually a parent company managing all.
So its just like Alphabet/Google? Dont think that actually changed anything.

Yes, its like sending an old lady to beauty center, she looks good, but till full of health issues. only they people who don`t understand how bad is facbook as corporate will see this is a good thing.
They've likely been laying the groundwork for years, but the timing is certain to meet the expectations of cynics - after all, changing the company name after a scandal is the oldest trick in the book.
This simple rebranding will likely ease a lot of the public pressure on Facebook.
the bigger story here is... will they also ditch the "blue" theme with the arrival of the new logo? You can bet your ass they will.
