Hi everyone, I got tf2 during this steam sale but I have not been able to run it in my machine (Arch/amd gpu). I was hoping I could get some help from you guys

The game won't event launch and my guess is that the origin client is being the problem, since it never launches, and the last line of the steam window is something like > "Installing originthinsetup.exe"

I've followed this guides:

Origin additional dependencies https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/Origin.md)

Drivers https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/Origin.md

I've tried reinstalling the game, deliting the prefix and I've tried proton-ge but I don't know what else to do

And for some reason it does run on a linux mint machine, so theres that.

Hmm worked for me out of the box with Proton about a year ago. I only ever played the single player part though. Did you check proton db?

I've had success installing Origin via wine by using winetricks in the game's prefix directory and enabling that setting that shows the virtual desktop (not entire sure what it was called - probably just virtual desktop).

The problem for me was that for some reason my desktop environment (i3) just wouldn't show the Origin installer window, so I couldn't click Continue on it. Enabling the Desktop fixed that though and everything was smooth from then on :)

Hope this helps and good luck!

Have you tried running it through Lutris? I'm pretty sure there's an install script for it that works well.
