Edit: fun fact about TotK weapons, the displayed weapon damage for spears and two handed weapons is inaccurate. Two handed weapons are off by only 5%(more damage), but spears do almost 25% less damage than they display! This is probably why there isn't a way to view enemy HP numbers in game like in the last game. This also applies to fused weapons, with fused monster parts being nerfed or buffed by the weapon type.
Nintendo wanted spears to be balanced similarly to BotW, but also wanted us to use them more. I wish they made spears top out at low damage, but not nerf fusions or have special modifiers. I liked them in BotW, but dislike using them now because of the bs they pulled. It's like they want us to emulate and fix it with mods!
